Small, family owned. When you see “auntie” in the back cutting the greens... you know it’s bout to be good!!!

I’ve been going here since I was kid. The food is always amazing and home cooked. They great deals and the staff is very welcoming. I’m glad that business is still going strong!

If you like down home soul food this is the place to go, although the aesthetics are basic the food is great.

My new go to place for down home southern cooking since my mother passed away. I eat here at least 2 times a week. I enjoy the service over all and would refer anyone who wants some good flavored food. Then Johns Fine Food is the place to go. Just get there before 8:30 or the door will be locked

My friend wanted to take me somewhere that he eats very often. He promised me it would be a place I could get a home cooked meal. That was going to be good. I arrived the parking lot was packed. I ordered ribs that I swear was falling off the bone. I tried to make them last a few days they were so good. The place was pleasant and have told many people about it. I would definitely recommend you to take your friends, spouse or family if your looking for soul food. Hell I'd take myself there with no one.

My Southern Grandma would have cried over how delicious this food is! It tasted like my childhood in all the best ways.Moderately steep prices, until you see how much food is served. Hubby & I could have easily shared a plate. Instead, we had a great lunch the next day!

Nice ambience and super affable service. The food was crisp and delicious. Will surely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Convenient rates and large meals. Keep it up.

Brenda has been at John's for offer 28 years. I know because I've been going there for that long and she and John are the chefs that have not gotten the hat. She still has the great smile while John plays like he has retired. Love them.

This suppose to be fine home cooking. However, the food taste like they took every short cut they could think of. I bought a veggie plate that included four veggies. The mac and cheese taste like imitation cheese was used (horrible). The collard greens taste like sugar was added to them, and they were either from the can or bag (ewww). The yams taste like pure sugary syrup(yuck). The cabbage was bland, it didn't even taste like cabbage itself. Usually when I go to a southern soul food restaurant I'm usually happy and satisfied. This restaurant is extremely underrated and if anyone say other either they were sick when they visited or their taste buds were clogged.

Great soul food restaurant! This is a buffet style restaurant that is reasonably priced. Customer service was great. My husband and I enjoyed the food, next best thing to a home cooked meal. We will be back on our next trip to Georgia.

Everything is fresh, BBQ ribs fall of the bone, plenty of meat on these rib's. Fried chicken is moist and crunchy, great flavor! Mac n cheese to die for. It's all good. Then afterwards, try the banana pudding, if there's any left! Worth the money, cos you get plenty. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault........

The food was not seasoned good; vegetables tasted like they came out of the can; employees did not have on hairnets; and ovwr priced.. I only went because my cousin and husband bragged that the food was so good... Not sure if i went on the wrong day or wrong place.. Thanks but no thanks..

I always enjoy the good quality food served here. The price is reasonable.

I’m giving them five stars because I love their food, but every month they have a new date of when they open. First, they said December, then January, now it’s February and they STILL NOT OPEN!!! What’s the hold up??????

Warm, Southern hospitality at its finest! Food was delicious! Black eyed peas are not my favorite, but baby, they were amazing! Seasoned to perfection! I ate every drop! Cabbage,yams and greens were great as well. (I had a vegetarian plate). I highly recommend this place. But beware, there will be a line out the door because it's so good..

John's Fine Food building has seen better days. Cafeteria style dining. Food was tasty and portions large. My son and his fiancee enjoyed their dinner, I enjoyed the Mac and Cheese. My ribs and greens were cold and the dining room as well.

Good southern style food! Staff are super friendly. I went on Tuesday and Wednesday for lunch. A number of my colleagues also did back to back lunches.

Very southern if you're missin home. Definitely try the banana pudding. The ribs are fall off the bone good. Didn't dine in, got my food to go. They have a great selection. I gave 4 stars because of the talk. Some may like the southern gossip. I'm not a fan. Still felt like home though.

If you are lookibg for real soul food that grandma use to make...look no further! I went Sunday at 11:00 after church, and already there was a line out the door! It was worth the wait for Southern Fried Chicken, collard greens, cornbread macaroni and cheese and candy yams; absolutely phenomenal.The atmosphere is down home, but friendly. Good price for a meal. One meat and 2 veggies, plus corn bread.It is really crowded, so I got my order to go! Great place, awesome anointed cooks! Go now!

I used to eat there a lot on Sundays until I noticed roaches especially the one that was on my key lime cake when I got home. Fortunately it was deceased but after that I stopped eating there. Today it was clean, roach free as far I could see. The food is delicious and when I'm back l'll eat there again and again. It's again the best soul food restaurant in Atlanta to me. BTW I had the fish.

The food was and is always great. The service sucks. I got a vegetable plate. Told the cashier it was to stay. She gave me a to-go cup. When I went for a refill, they told me I had the wrong cup and refused to give me a refill. 2nd time this happened on a dine in. Quick fix b/c they could see I actually ate there. They refused. Someone cleaning the dining area snuck and got me a refill. I thanked her and said I would never be back. Sad. I tried to support even after I had a separate experience where a server said something inappropriate to me and thought nothing of it.

John's is ALWAYS Excellent and I never want to forget the homemade banana pudding! Made me wish it was Sunday because the peach cobbler is only served on Sunday's. This place not only have Great food! But Great People working there! I love John's fine Food!😋😍😁

Man I love the food here! Seasoned just right, presentation of food on buffet always looks fresh and delicious. The prices are definitely great considering the QUALITY and QUANTITY of food! I sure hope they're back opened after a recent fire. I miss them dearly, tried Annie Laura's and it doesn't compare!

Tried this place already with my friend and I am addicted ever since. I enjoyed the fantastic character and yummy food and drinks. Kudos.

Buffet style Southern home cooking at it's best. Buy John's book while you're there, and learn about a great man !

The place offers a nice range of delicious food. I enjoyed eating here. Staff members are always super friendly, rates are reasonable and the place is always neat.

Sweet Tea was sweet.6. Coca Cola was without carbonation. 7. Pork Chop cooked to order.. $13, which is average for Soul Food. I dont worry about cost too.Con:1. I agree with other Reviews, the staff is NOT friendly. They never smile!2. The chicken tasted old.3. Mac n Cheese is a no go, tastes like cheese eggs w/o salt.

I'm a JB HUNT DRIVER visiting Atlanta Georgia... I was looking for a place to get something to eat and I found this place... Great Place... Food was the "Bomb"..(Good)... more than I could handle and priced very reasonably... Expect to wait in line but it is worth the wait... I Guarantee you...
